Waivers and Exemptions - Scholarships

Federal Regulations require that waivers, exemptions, and/or sponsored payments be considered as resources for educational expenses for financial aid recipients. The timing of when waivers, exemptions, and/or sponsored payments are posted to your account may impact current and future financial aid disbursement and may cause a manual review and adjustment of financial aid.

Financial Aid and Scholarships processes the following waivers and exemptions:

• Competitive Scholarship Waiver
• Good Neighbor Program
• Educational Aide Exemption

Student Accounting calculates waivers and exemptions, as well as sponsored payments, for UNT students. Please provide waiver, exemption, and/or sponsored payment information to Student Accounting in a timely manner.
