UNT Presidential Graduate Scholarship
Recent UNT graduates can earn a presidential scholarship with Fall 2026 admission to a high demand graduate degree program!
Students who meet the eligibility criteria will be considered for the UNT Presidential Graduate Scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
- Graduate from UNT with a bachelor’s degree in Fall 2025, Spring 2026, or Summer 2026 with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Be classified as a resident of Texas
- Be admitted to a master’s degree program for the Fall 2026 semester to one of the following high demand degree programs:
College of Engineering
College of Engineering applicants to the following programs are not required to submit GRE/GMAT test scores for Fall 2026 admission.
- Artificial Intelligence (M.S.)
- Biomedical Engineering (M.S.)
- Computer Science (M.S.)
- Cybersecurity (M.S.)
- Data Engineering (M.S.)
- Electrical Engineering (M.S.)
- Engineering Management (M.S.)
- Materials Science and Engineering (M.S.)
- Mechanical and Energy Engineering (M.S.)
- Semiconductor Manufacturing Engineering (M.S.)
College of Information
College of Information applicants to the following programs are not required to submit GRE/GMAT test scores for admission.
G. Brint Ryan College of Business
G. Brint Ryan College of Business applicants who meet the academic criteria outlined above are automatically waived from the GMAT/GRE testing requirement. See the RCOB Application Checklist for details.
There is no separate application for this scholarship. Award decisions will be made based on your academic records and admission to applicable degree programs. Priority consideration for this scholarship will be given to students who complete the application process by July 1, 2026.
Awarding Details
Scholarship award notices for the 2026-2027 academic year are anticipated to begin June 15, 2026 for students admitted for Fall 2026 to one of the above listed programs by June 1. For students admitted after June 1, please allow about two weeks after your admission to an applicable program for a scholarship decision. All scholarship notices will be sent to students’ EagleConnect email.
Annual scholarship amounts will be split into two equal payments between the fall and spring semesters and are renewable for up to one year (i.e., up to 4 semesters). Receipt of funding will require enrollment in 9 or more hours in each fall and spring semester. Funding is not applicable for the summer term.
The renewal criteria for the second year of funding includes:
- Successful completion of 18 or more semester credit hours during the 2026-2027 academic year (i.e., 18 UNT graduate hours earned)
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
- Enrollment in 9 or more hours in fall and spring semesters
