Below are a few tips to help you complete the Eagle Scholarship Portal.

Signing In

  • You must use the same EUID and password that you use to log into myUNT.
  • New students must be admitted to UNT before applying for scholarships.
  • You must activate your UNT account and EagleConnect email before you can sign into the Eagle Scholarship Portal.
  • Contact the IT HelpDesk if you need help managing your UNT account.

Completing the Application

  • The General Application is about 10 questions. You must complete all questions on the General Application and Agreement before you can submit your application.
  • Your student record is imported into the Eagle Scholarship Portal from UNT's Enterprise Information System.

Applying to Scholarships

  • Once your General Application has been submitted, you will automatically be matched with scholarships that fit your eligibility based on your responses on the General. Application and your UNT student record.
  • Most scholarships do not require any other information to complete your application.
  • Scholarships that require additional information, such as an essay or letter of recommendation, will appear on your dashboard in the Eagle Scholarship Portal.

Providing References

  • Not all scholarships require letters of recommendation.
  • If a recommendation is needed, you will be prompted to enter the individual's full name and email address. It is an expectation that you respectfully request permission to use an individual as a reference prior to entering their contact information.
  • Once the contact information is entered, an email is immediately sent to the individual with instructions for completing the recommendation.
  • Please encourage a timely response from your reference. You will not be able to view the submitted recommendation, only that it has been received.

Entering Essays

  • Not all scholarships require an essay.
  • If an essay is needed, you will be prompted with the essay subject and text area in which to enter your essay.
  • We encourage you to use word processing tools to confirm that your essay is grammatically accurate (spelling and punctuation).
  • You may preview the content of your essay to ensure that no unusual formatting occurs after you copy/paste from another program.
Apply for Scholarships
  1. Apply and be admitted to a UNT program.
  2. Activate your UNT account. 
  3. Activate your EagleConnect email.
  4. Sign into the Eagle Scholarship Portal with your EUID and password.
  5. Monitor your Eagle Connect email account.
Scholarship Requirements
  • Maintain continuous enrollment and meet the minimum credit hour requirement each fall and spring. Most scholarships require full-time enrollment at UNT in the fall and spring.
  • Maintain the minimum UNT cumulative GPA and plan to use the UNT Learning Center Resources to help with any academic needs.
  • Most renewable scholarships require full-time enrollment and the successful completion of 24 undergraduate hours at UNT annually. Scholarship recipients not meeting renewal requirements will receive notification to your EagleConnect email.
  • Make a note of the scholarship details included in the online University of North Texas Scholarship Agreement in the Eagle Scholarship Portal when you accept your scholarship.
