UNT offers financial assistance or merit-based scholarships for qualified students and a variety of other tools that families can use to make higher education possible. Start your financial aid process by applying to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Fall 2026 Important Dates

To ensure consideration of aid awards for the Fall term, this timeline is your guide to FAFSA and TASFA processing. Visit Priority Deadlines and Dates for more information on deadlines for Spring and Summer.

October 1

2026-2027 FAFSA and TASFA are available.  Apply as soon as possible! 

January 15

Priority Deadline: Complete 2026-2027 financial aid application by January 15 to meet Priority Deadline to be considered for all forms of financial aid.

February 15

Complete all "To Do List" items in myUNT and monitor your EagleConnect email for status updates regarding your financial aid application.

April 15

Continue to monitor "To Do List" items in myUNT and EagleConnect email for important updates.  Review and accept financial aid offers to ensure timely disbursement for Fall 2026.

The 2025-2026 FAFSA Is Available

FAFSA is a free application used to determine financial aid eligibility. To complete the FAFSA, you must first create an FSA ID if needed. Who should complete it? EVERYONE—every year!
