I Have Scholarships

Scholarship funds will disburse to your student account once you establish attendance in the credit hours required to receive your award(s). Review your scholarship award notification and/or agreement to confirm enrollment requirements, and reach out to your awarding department if you have questions!

Departmental Scholarship Recipients (Awarded by a UNT Department)

Student Financial Aid & Scholarships posts scholarships based on information received from your awarding department. Please contact your awarding department if you have questions about your scholarship, including enrollment requirements, amount, or if the award is not posted.

Outside Agency/External Scholarships (Recipients Selected Outside UNT)

  • Students receiving scholarships from outside UNT should visit our External Scholarships and Resources page for information regarding the submission of scholarship checks to UNT and for the guidelines used when disbursing these scholarships.
  • External scholarship awards with no specific enrollment requirement to receive the funds will disburse once the student has reached at least 1 credit hour attendance. It is the student’s responsibility as an external scholarship recipient to know and meet the attendance requirement for any external funding received.
  • Students that have submitted external scholarship Letters of Intent (LOI) will have an anticipated award posted if funds have not yet been received from a donor. The standard timeline for having a LOI posted to your student account is 3-5 business days, depending on the volume of awards being received. If you submitted a LOI outside of this timeframe, feel free to email our Scholarship Team to review the status.

If you receive an e-mail or a phone call from UNT’s billing department, Student Accounting and University Cashiering Services (SAUCS), prior to your payment deadline, this means that they have not received sufficient payment (including Anticipated Aid) and your class schedule is in jeopardy of being canceled.
