I understand the acceptance of my award(s) for the semester(s) marked indicates my intent to enroll for the semester(s) for which I have accepted the award offer.
I agree to notify the Student Financial AidMoney provided to the student and the family to help them pay for the student's education. Major forms of financial aid include gift aid (grants and scholarships) and self help aid (loans and work). and Scholarships office in writing prior to the 1st class day of any semester for which I have accepted aid award(s) if my intent to enroll changes for the semester(s). I understand that such notification must be received in the Student Financial Aid and Scholarships office prior to the 1st class day of any and all terms for which I have accepted aid awards. If I fail to follow this procedure prior to the 1st class day, I further understand I am responsible for then following appropriate withdrawal procedures as required by the Registrar's office.
I understand that if I withdraw from the University prior to the 1st class day of any term, financial aid funds which have posted to my student account (at Student Accounting and University Cashiering Services) from which I accept a reimbursement will require me to return the full amount of reimbursement (repayment) to the University. I authorize the University to assign any unpaid amount of tuition and fees or financial aid funds to a collection or credit reporting agency or agencies for the purpose of collecting the amount at the option of the University. I promise to pay all attorneys’ fees and other reasonable collection costs and charges necessary for the collection of any amount not paid when due.
I understand and agree that if I withdraw from the University on or after the 1st class day I will be responsible for the repayment of any financial aid funds or portion of funds as required by federal or state regulations. I further understand that if I withdraw from the University within the published time period as stated in the Tuition and Fee Register, any calculated refund of tuition and fees must be reinstated to the financial aid programs (funds) which posted to my account.

I understand that in order to receive any of the awarded financial aid programs, I must be making Satisfactory academic progressA student must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress to continue to receive financial aid. Students must maintain a certain qualitative standard (i.e. cumulative GPA) in addition to maintaining a quantitative standard (i.e. successfully completing a required number of credit hours). Students must also complete their degree or certificate program within a maximum timeframe, which may vary according to the student’s status and program. I understand that any application data, which is corrected, updated and/or revised by me or by the Student Financial Aid and Scholarships office will require an additional review of my eligibility and may delay further processing of my application.
I agree to submit to the Student Financial Aid and Scholarships office all information as requested by the Student Financial Aid and Scholarships office to meet the requirements of completing my application filing status. In addition, I understand the Student Financial Aid and Scholarships office must receive all required information by the last class day of the term for which I am enrolled and eligible to receive disbursementDisbursement is the release of loan funds to the school for delivery to the borrower. The payment will be made co-payable to the student and the school. Loan funds are first credited to the student's account for payment of tuition and fees. Any excess funds are then paid to the student in cash or by check for the purpose of paying for other educational expenses. of funds.

I understand that any money posted to my student account, including, but not limited to, scholarships, assistantships, fellowships, and other educational benefits which do not appear on my Financial Aid Notification (FAN)is an official document issued by the Financial Aid Office that lists all of the financial aid awarded to the student. This letter provides details on their analysis of your financial need and the breakdown of your financial aid package according to amount, source, and type of aid. The FAN letter will include the terms and conditions for the financial aid and information about the cost of attendance. Students are required to access the myUNT portal to indicate whether they accept or decline each source of aid. may reduce my financial needThe difference between the COA and the EFC is the student's financial need - the gap between the cost of attending the school and the student's resources. I understand this award is contingent upon the availability of federal, state and institutional funding for these program(s) and, in addition, the award amount(s) may be modified, changed, or canceled at any time without prior notification as regulations or funding for the student financial aid programs change or if my financial aid eligibility changes.
I certify that I will use any money I receive under the federally assisted loans, grants, or work-study programs only for expenses related to my study at the University of North Texas.
I authorize the University of North Texas to disclose any financial aid or academic information without my prior consent if disclosure is done in connection with application processing, determining program eligibility, receipt of student financial aid programs or in regard to the normal processing and servicing of student financial aid programs to any and all agencies which have an official need for this information.
I am not in defaultA loan is in default when the borrower fails to pay several regular installments on time (i.e., payments overdue by 180 days) or otherwise fails to meet the terms and conditions of the loan. If the student defaults on a loan, then the university, the holder of the loan, the state, and the federal government can take legal action to recover the money. This may include garnishing your wages and withholding income tax refunds. Defaulting on a government loan will make the student ineligible for future federal financial aid, unless a satisfactory repayment schedule is arranged, and can affect their credit rating. on any educational loan(s) which have been previously awarded or disbursed to me from any institution including the University of North Texas, nor do I owe a refund or repayment of any amount on any educational programs which have been previously awarded or disbursed to me from any educational institution including the University of North Texas.
In the event that I become delinquentIf the borrower fails to make a payment on time, the borrower is considered delinquent and late fees may be charged. If the borrower misses several payments, the loan goes into Default. on an educational loan which was disbursed to me by the University of North Texas from the National Direct Student Loan program, the Federal Stafford Loan program or the Hinson-Hazlewood Loan program, I authorize the University of North Texas to withhold from me any official transcript or other academic records at the University until I am considered by the Student Financial Aid and Scholarships office to be current on my loan repayment obligations.
I understand by accepting awards, I give UNT authorization to post my financial aid funds (A) to my student account to apply any available Title IV financial aid funds to allowable charges, which are tuition, mandatory fees and university contracted housing and meal plan charges, (B) to apply Title IV financial aid funds to other educational charges (some of these charges might include, but are not limited to, parking permit fees, Student Health Center charges and other miscellaneous educational charges), and (C) for all current year charges and all prior year charges of less than $200. Furthermore, the acceptance of awards (posting of awards to my student account) and/or the receipt of an electronic refund or check indicate my agreement to the terms and conditions of my awards. I will contact Student Financial Aid and Scholarships if I choose not to authorize disbursement before I accept any awards. Once I have been awarded, I will not make any corrections to the FAFSA data I submitted without contacting Student Financial Aid and Scholarships first. Unnecessary corrections may require verificationVerification is a review process in which the FAO determines the accuracy of the information provided on the student's financial aid application. During the verification process the student and parent will be required to submit documentation for the amounts listed (or not listed) on the financial aid application. Such documentation may include signed copies of the most recent Federal income tax returns for the student, spouse (if any) and their parents. Financial aid applications are randomly selected by the Federal processor for verification, with most schools verifying at least 1/3 of all applications. Schools may select additional students for verification if they suspect fraud. Some schools undergo 100% verification. If any discrepancies are uncovered during verification, the financial aid office may require additional information to clear up the discrepancies. Such discrepancies may cause a student's final financial aid package to be different from the initial package described on the award letter they received from the school. If the student refuses to submit the above mentioned documentation, the financial aid package will be canceled and no aid will be awarded. of FAFSA data, which could result in revisions to my awards, and delay payment of my aid.
