Some non-Texas residents may be eligible to pay in-state tuition and fees.  Non-Texas residents are eligible to pay Texas-resident fees and charges if you are:

• awarded a scholarship in competition with other Texas Residents of at least $1,000 for the academic year or summer for which you are enrolled,

-and-

• the competitive scholarship award was made by a UNT Scholarship Committee recognized by the administration and approved by the Texas Higher Education Board (THECB). 

Students who receive scholarships not awarded by UNT through its competitive scholarship process are not eligible to pay Texas-resident fees and charges. 

Coordination of UNT’s Scholarship Administration is defined by UNT Policy 18.3.5.
